As I said, for better or worse, and that might just be a for better.
I'd definitely be better having missed out on that stupid song from The Bloodhound Gang, "You and me baby" thing. That's so retarded, but I can never seem to forget it =\
Got the book and stayed awake until 5 AM the day I bought it to finish it up (As I said, bibliophile- Can't put down a book once I start unless it's utter crap.)
It was decent, as were most of the potter books, but once again, I wouldn't say amazing.
Some of the plotholes from previous books were wrapped up in this one-
Some very well, and others not so.
Some new ones were introduced, however.
If you like Harry Potter, you'll of course enjoy the book.
If you don't, it's still not bad on its own merits.
As said, it leaves with a cliffhanger-
The book cuts off at a spot that would make most people want to immediately pick up the next one.
Unfortunately, another year away for that.

When i first heard of the Hocruxes, i also tought. hey, it might be harry. but looking bad, you can tell where the error lies in that. no matter how much you think Rowling is, she will not kill off harry. Or atleast not until voldemort and maybe even snape(depending how she plays out that hatred issue) die also. I Do think it was HORRIBLE how she cheapened Dumbledore's Sacrifice by making the Hucrux mission incidently worthless. but i like how she's playing off the fake hocrux with it giving harry strength in the on coming fight. She can do wonders in the next book. the way she has set it up, she can take 20 years to finish it and we will still wait. She can kill off the entire world and we will still praise her. lol . But i do think harry will stick to his word and not ever come go back to Hogwarts again. What's there for him anymore besides horrible memories. the school has been tainted with the death eaters presence and the death of dumbledore. I rather like how she will finish it off. She basically will finish off the series the same way she started it. 3 friends fighting for their livees and the lives of people they know they must protect. Because only they can do it. i realy think the final showdown will just be harry, ron, and hermione on one side, against the forces of evil on the other. No other way can realy fit into the book as well as that.
Anyway, that's just the rambling of somebody who giggled everytime they said snog in the book instead of kiss. ;p

ZD, I'm pretty sure Harry has to come back, even if it is because he needs to find one of the other horcurses hidden there or because that's where he thinks he can hurt V. As I said earlier, I don't think he's ready yet on his own. I don't mind how Rowling did the part of dumbledor's sacrifice, sometimes the things you do in life turn out to be pointless. I think that because this RAB was out there getting them, maybe Potter has less work to do.
The thing I liked the least about this book:
You can finish it too quickly.

i havent read all the post so my theory might have been postet already...
well i think that snape was ordered by dumbledore to kill him so snape could come closer than any man to voldemort...trough this he could find out where all the 4 hocruxes are there and maybe there was a 2cond prophesie about snape helping harry..and i think dumbloedore will be seen in next book as ghost or portrait or maybe he got an hocruxes

it could all end in the next book since sirius brother could have destroyed all hocruxes since he destroyed the one dumbleedore and harry got...well so it might that the next book is only a fight beetween voldemort and then the killing of harry himself

Sirius' brother was a death eater. So if he did take the locket, he had to have done it when he knew he was going to die.

harry can't be a horcrox. See what happend to voldermort when he tried to posses Harry. Aslo IF Harry IS a horcrox why would voldermort be trying to kill him.

I say Dumbledore will come back and assist Harry in someway. Its anti-climatic if Dumbledore just disappear from now on. But than again, the portrait can also help Harry out...

Maybe dumbledore is the horcrux. And I think, given the statements at the end, there is more to snape than meets the eye.

Wouldn't know, I pick them up as they come out.
Some other series I'll actually count down the days as it approaches, but Harry Potter just doesn't appeal to me enough.

===Spoilers Below====
Harry being a Horcrux is probably too obvious at this point. I see it as being one of the things Harry himself begins to think, in error. (Harry's begun to believe many things we consider 'obvious' and J.K. has the tendency to prove us wrong yet again.)
As far as Dumbledore having a Horcruxe, I doubt that, however, it's a possibility I've thought of myself, even if it is a vain attempt to find hope he isn't dead.
R.A.B. being Regulus Black is again a little obvious. However, at this point, that's the only place the clues are pointing.
I give Luna all of 3 chapters in the next book before she eats it. Hermione...maybe 7. Either way, I think Rowling is weening us off of Hermione for this purpose. You'll note how very little we got to read about her in Book 6. It was dissapointing.
The Lupin-Tonks relationship was set up, just to tear it apart.
The Rosemerta tie-up was too convenient and not very clever.
The revelation of the Half-Blood Prince was indeed, as you all say, incredibly lackluster. "Oh...Snape? Wow. Moving on."
I believe Rowling's given herself too many bases at this point and she's struggling to cover them all. It's obvious in the last book.
It will be 2 years before the LAST book comes out. Refer to J.K. Rowling's interview at www.Mugglenet.com

While i agree with most of what you said sir maddox. I just don't see her killing off Hermione. I think she is the least likely of the trio to die. I think Harry will die and/or Ron. Possabley both but thats pushing it a bit.

Ron might wind up with Hermione at the end of the next one. It was pretty obvious Rowling was trying to turn things that way. And I think Ginny would be more likely to die... for some reason I see Luna as Harry's next girl friend. Don't know why but I do. If she doesn't get Harry, I think she and Neville will be a couple.
